New logo Somater

In a changing world, Somater’s ambition is to provide new answers to the challenges of our time in the world of packaging.

Our know-how, creativity and talents are used to achieve new industrial, social and commercial objectives. Our approach to eco-design and reduction of our carbon footprint is a good example of this.

Our vision finds a new and enriched expression in the logo we are presenting today.

It introduces a company rooted in its history, robust and determined to serve its customers in the beauty, health and food industries better than ever. It embodies the collective adventure and the dynamics we wish to deploy with all our stakeholders.

We hope you will like this new signature. It will be unveiled at the PCD trade show which will be held on June 29 and 30 in Paris.

Do not hesitate to visit us on this occasion!

Somater PCD 2022

It is with great enthusiasm that we will meet you “in person” at the next edition of the PCD trade show on June 29 and 30 in Paris.

A must-attend event for all the global players in the cosmetics and perfumery industry, some 650 exhibitors will present the latest innovations in packaging to the 10,000 visitors expected over these two days. We are looking forward to seeing the big iconic brands as well as the “indie brands” known for shaking up trends by continuously reinventing products.

With sustainability and eco-responsibility as strong themes of the show, we will take this opportunity to unveil our EcoTribeTM product family. This range, which complements our standard solutions, perfectly illustrates our environmental approach with products developed with the following priorities in mind: eco-design, recyclability and use of bio-based materials.

Come and visit us at stand C27 to discover our eco-friendly, disruptive and trend-setting solutions!

rPET flask for Expanscience

In line with our latest news on eco-responsible initiatives, we are pleased to announce the strengthening of our long-standing partnership with Laboratoires Expanscience.

This partnership expresses itself in the use of our 200 ml flask by the Mustela brand to reinforce their sun protection range. What makes this flask so original? We have added a good dose of eco-design: made of 100% rPET, it is now 100% recycled and recyclable.

This result demonstrates once again our commitment to the circular economy and our desire to provide concrete solutions to our customers to achieve our CSR objectives together.

You will find details of our range of standard flasks in our online catalog.

Latest eco-responsible creation: Payot “NUE” range

Among the products that make up Payot’s “Nue” range, we are focusing today on a 200 ml flask that we have developed using recycled material and to be 100% recyclable.

Developed in partnership with Laboratoires Payot, this packaging also paves the way for the brand’s ambitions in terms of sustainable development: “By 2025, 100% of the packaging used for Payot products will be made from recycled and/or recyclable materials and we are aiming for plastic neutrality by 2030!”

For SOMATER, this launch is fully aligned with our CSR objectives for 2025 which are to minimise our environmental impact: 100% recyclable packs and 50% of packs made from recycled resin.

You will find details of our range of standard flasks in our online catalogue.

Acquisition of ANL PACKAGING by the SOMATER Group

We are pleased to announce the acquisition of ANL PACKAGING by the SOMATER Group. This acquisition is effective as of May 10, 2022.

A European player in thermoforming since 1958, ANL PACKAGING is a key partner of the food industry. Based in Wellen, Belgium, the company employs more than 400 people in three plants in Belgium, France and Poland.

With this acquisition, the SOMATER Group strengthens its position as a leading European player, with strong roots in the beauty, health and food markets. The new entity has an extensive technology portfolio, strengthened innovation capabilities and an optimal geographical location.

“The acquisition of ANL PACKAGING by SOMATER was made possible thanks to strong and shared values: a family logic, a sustained investment policy, a firm commitment to CSR and an uncompromising cus-tomer focus. Together we will be stronger to serve our customers in the same spirit of performance and innovation that has always characterised us”, explains Felix Hubin, CEO of the SOMATER Group.

Like all companies within the SOMATER Group, ANL PACKAGING will continue to operate independently.

ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification)

And that’s two!

After Plastuni Normandie, which led the way a few months ago, it is now Plastuni Lisses’ turn to obtain ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) certification.

This is a decisive step forward in terms of eco-design, as this standard guarantees the traceability of renewable raw materials throughout the chain and attests to the food quality of the polymers used.

This result illustrates the efforts made in our CSR approach and contributes to reducing our carbon footprint. It also enables us to support our customers in the development of sustainable solutions.

This is illustrated by the upcoming launch of a new generation of recyclable HDPE laminated tubes produced in partnership with the Rocher Group and designed with 40% ISCC PLUS certified material (mass balance recycling).

SOMATER Revue de presse Make-up LA

Two of our EcoTribeTM references are in the news this week: the CTA Eco Mascara and the hybrid pack.

Nominated for the IT Awards in the “Packaging” category at the Make-Up in L.A. trade show, these innovations are noticed and highlighted in the specialized press: www.luxepackaginginsight.com and www.premiumbeautynews.com. We invite you to read these articles!

New innovative and sustainable solutions are to come, they will confirm our commitment to eco-design.

Broyeur APET site Prévent

PET thermoforming generates up to 30% of post-production waste.

In order to contribute to the reuse of 100% of its waste, SOMATER has just installed a new PET shredder on its Frévent site.

A few explanations: the shredding process transforms the waste into homogeneous flakes which are then packaged in big bags to avoid any contamination.

This waste becomes raw material with high added value, ready to be reintroduced into a new production cycle. And there is no end to it!

With this installation, we contribute to the reuse of all our waste. We are reducing our impact on the environment and affirming our commitment to the circular economy.

CFIA 2022 SOMATER Eco Tribe™ in Brittany

SOMATER will be participating in the CFIA exhibition, from 8 to 10 March in Rennes. This event is a must for all players in the food industry.

It will be an opportunity for us to present our new range of eco-designed products. Declined under the EcoTribeTM brand, this line is composed of primary packaging solutions, all developed in an eco-responsible logic.

You will be able to discover our new hybrid packs made of biobased polymers including cardboard, thus considerably reducing the environmental impact.

We look forward to seeing you in Hall 9 on our stand D16 to share our know-how and discuss our solutions for the circular economy.

The 24/410 polypropylene hinged-cap

The 24/410 polypropylene hinged-cap developed by SOMATER stands out for its quality of design.

Weighing only 2.85 g, it is 20% lighter than other caps on the market, while offering the same functionality.

The reduced weight means less material used, less weight to transport and less volume to recycle.

This product is in line with the eco-responsible products developed by SOMATER under the EcoTribeTM brand. It can be made from recycled or bio-sourced resins.

You will find details of this cap among the “ready to go” packaging in our online catalogue.
