Somater, actor of the circular economy

The European regulation on recycled materials, adopted by the European Union on 22 May 2018, aims to increase the percentage of plastic material recycling to 50% by 2025. Somater did not wait for the regulation to commit to the industrialisation of PCR (Post Consumer Recycled) materials. Somater already manufactures primary packaging in PETR (polyethylene terephthalate) and bio-sourced PE, a polymer made from sugar cane. Tests are also in progress for the manufacture of cosmetic, pharmaceutical, agro-food and industrial products using recycled PP (polypropylene) and PE (polyethylene). The rate of recycled material varies from 20% to 100%, depending on the application.
