After our sites of Savigny, Theix and Hautot, it is the turn of Marolles to be certified ISO 15378.

With 4 plants meeting the standards of pharmaceutical packaging production, SOMATER strengthens its position on this market.

The ISO 15378 is an international standard which governs the manufacturing of primary packaging for drugs and deals with:

  • The management of manufacturing batches and their traceability,
  • The control of good manufacturing practices,
  • The validation of critical processes,
  • Risk management.

This standard is therefore fully involved in ensuring patient safety.

We are proud of this new certification, which demonstrates the robustness of our quality management system and attests to our commitment to meeting our customers’ current and future challenges.

Congratulations to the entire team of SOMATER Marolles who took up this new challenge with enthusiasm!

SOMATER has been recognized for its commitment to climate change on the occasion of the CDP 2021.

The “Climate change” impact was assessed at B–.

This progress is the result of concrete initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint:

These actions have led to a further reduction in our CO² emissions with a target of -25% by 2025 and the extension of the scope of measurement to all SOMATER sites.

EcoVadis has awarded the SOMATER Group a Gold rating for its CSR management system, and this result is attributable to each of the Group’s employees.

We are very proud to be among the top 8% of companies in terms of CSR performance.

We would like to thank our clients who encourage us on a daily basis on the path of renewed social and environmental responsibility.

This milestone invites us to go further in our mission to reinvent polymer packaging. It also gives us the opportunity to recall the three ambitions that drive it:

  • To retain eco-design as the code of conduct for our action,
  • To develop responsible human and industrial resources,
  • To measure and share our approach to guarantee its effectiveness.

You will find more details on our approach in our 2020-2021 CSR report available here.

BVLGARI and SOMATER have developed the range of flasks from the “Hotel Line”. Now these 40-75-300ml packs are made entirely from rPET. This cooperation demonstrates:

  • SOMATER’s commitment to adopt eco-design as a code of conduct for its action and contributes to the achievement of its 2025 objectives: 100% recyclable packs, 50% packs designed from recycled resin.
  • BVLGARI’s commitments, through the LVMH group’s LIFE 360 objectives, to no longer use virgin plastic from fossil sourcing by 2026.

The “Industry Week” was held from November 22 to 26. On this occasion, Plastuni Normandie went to meet college students from the Dieppe region.

This event under the theme “inventing a sustainable future” aimed to present and strengthen the attractiveness of local industry but also to raise awareness among young people about the different kind of jobs the industry sector has to offer.

This was an opportunity for Plastuni Normandie to show how the company contributes to the protection of the environment through eco-design. “We produce plastic bottles, but they are recycled and recyclable materials. We have also reduced the amount of plastic used by decreasing the thickness of the containers. We are committed to protecting the environment” specifies Angélique DELAMAERE, plant manager.

Plastuni Normandie responded to the sporting and solidarity challenge recently launched by Clarins to its suppliers in support of the Arthritis foundation.

Walking, running, jumping, moving… whatever the way, the challenge was to keep the body moving to accumulate the greatest number of steps for a week.

Results: Plastuni finished 11th overall out of 36 suppliers. Among the 5 Plastuni teams competing, one is ranked 22nd out of 232 teams. And as regards the individual ranking, let us note the exceptional performances of Amélie Delhon and Cédric Guelle who finish 2nd and 5th respectively out of a total of 938 participants.

Congratulations and a big thank you to all those who spared no effort in proudly flying the colors of SOMATER! 😊… and who thereby actively contributed to funding research into the treatment of joint diseases.

Plastuni Lisses has just developed, in partnership with Fleurance Nature, the first European tube that is eco-designed through material reduction.

With 28% less weight compared to market standards of 300µ, this ultra-light tube is made of 220/11 PEHD. It is fully recyclable and significantly reduces the consumption of raw materials.

Already distinguished by a Recyclass certification, we are aiming with this new lightweight laminate for ISCC+ certification. Another concrete illustration of the SOMATER group’s commitment to the circular economy.

You have the product, but need the packaging to launch it? At Somater, you will find THE solution.

Recycled or bio-sourced materials, lightweight products, special decoration – we have the answers to combine sustainable development, industrial performance and differentiation.

When your launch requires a quick solution, we offer our standard packaging catalogue.

And if “time to market” and “capex” control are key to your project, you will find the solution in our “ready-to-go” packaging.

In partnership with the Rocher Group, Huhtamaki and LyondellBasel, Somater (PUL) is preparing to launch a new generation of laminated tubes with more than 40% recycled raw material.

Composed of renewable raw materials, certified according to the international ISCC+ standard, these new tubes represent a major advance in eco-design and are compatible with current and future envi-ronmental requirements.

This new advance fits perfectly with SOMATER’s commitment to promote the circular economy and re-duce its impact on CO2 emissions.

A big thank you to our partners with whom we are co-building the solutions of tomorrow.
